創業以来使っていた朱肉を新調しました。
富山県の高岡でつくられたものです。
昨年、富山県の氷見市に少し縁があり、その帰路に夫婦で訪れた高岡の街。
高岡の街は、前田利長が開いた城下町で鋳物の街としても有名です。
金屋町という現在でも鋳物職人が工房を連ねる地域は、どの店の軒先にも鋳物でつくられた風鈴が下がり、硝子とはまた違う音色がとても心地よかった。
新調したのは丸くシンプルなデザインの朱肉入れです。
真鍮製で、手に持った感じはずっしりとして安定感があります。
お歯黒でムラをつける。という高岡独自の着色技法で、漆黒と言うよりは素地の真鍮色が滲んでいる感じです。

Made of brass, it has a sense of stability as it is held in your hand.
Add unevenness to your teeth. This is Takaoka's unique coloring technique, and it feels like the brass color of the base material is blurring rather than jet black.
上面は、鋳込んだままの無骨な表情。
二重の輪は、大切な契約が丸く収まるという意味が込められているそう。。。
側面はサラサラしていて手触りはとてもいい。
わずかに角度がついているので蓋をあける際には持ち上げやすい。

朱肉は日本産の有機顔料のみを使っています。
鉛や水銀、カドミウムなどが含まれていないので古来の朱印に近い赤色になるとのこ。
実際に印を押してみると、一般的な顔料とは違い鮮やかな印影になりました。
Vermilion uses only Japanese organic pigments. Because it does not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, etc., it turns red like an ancient red seal. When I actually pressed the seal, it became a vivid imprint unlike ordinary pigments.
高岡の街を訪れた際、ある工房のご主人にお招き頂き旧家を拝見しました。
その際に感じた街の佇まいや人々の人柄に触れて以来、彼らがつくりだす「モノ」の素晴らしさに共感したことで、この鋳物の朱肉入れはやってきました。
私たちのように契約を大切する仕事では、捺印はとても厳かな儀式です。
捺印はどうでもよいものではなく、その捺印によって始まるプロジェクトが素晴らしい幕開けであってほしいと願っています。
